Haus Segen — House Blessing Frakturs for you to Download

During the month of March I spent a great deal of time studying the different variations of Fraktur in the Pennsylvania Dutch communities and its association with Braucherei (Pow-Wow). I was so inspired by this art form that I created two Haus Blessing Frakturs to give to family and friends. I also created these designs in black and white so that you could color and enjoy them too!

Hi Silver,
I live in South Africa and it is Samhain here. I baked your Pumpkin Bread (from your book Halloween)for the occasion and it was utterly divine! The only thing I changed is to cook pumpkin as I couldn’t get canned pumpkin. My daughter is also a Witch and it was really a wonderful thing for us to do together 🙂

Silver do you know anything else about the Sophia (Wisdom) Goddess of Alchemy? You said in your Book of Shadows, “She was worshiped by King David and Solomon.” It is said Solomon was like he was married to the Goddess Wisdom. You said, “King James removed the Goddess from the Bible.” Afterward the Bible taught only of an All Male God. Do you know if any of the other Bible Prophets believed in the Feminine Personification of God? You said the 6 sided star is an alchemy symbol. Israel uses this same symbol. But, when I asked a Jewish Rabbi if he knew of the Goddess of Alchemy (Wisdom of Proverbs 8) he had no idea what I was talking about. I talked to a Christian Pastor, and he admitted he learned of Sophia. He said he knows of Her, but doesn’t believe in Her. He even corrected me on how to pronounce Sophia. Supposedly, when God created man, He said, “Let US make man in OUR image….. Male and Female He created them.” Could He be saying, “Let US make man in my male image, and woman in His Female Goddess Wisdom image? I have found numerous websites supporting the information you wrote about Her. Do you know any Sophia Goddess Sites? I’m not trying to force my monotheism on you. I want to learn what you know of the monotheist beliefs you may have left out in your Book of Shadows. Wicca is the Craft of the Wise. One cannot be Wise without the Birth Mother Wisdom.
