by Silver RavenWolf

Sun in Capricorn
Moon in First Quarter Pisces
Five Planets in Practical Goal-Setting Capricorn – Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto
Mercury/Jupiter Conjunction in Capricorn (on the 2nd) brings good news and positive communication

Our Great Release Program this year starts off with optimism (Mercury/Jupiter conjunction) embraced with the stability of five planets in reward building Capricorn!  Excellent energies to embrace with thoughts and actions!  Our first week is absolutely a Good Fortune one!

If you read the Program Introduction, you may have set your Program Goal and your 4 Weekly Goals, or you may be waiting for inspiration to hit you!  Today, let’s make sure we have our first weekly goal and our main goal in place, particularly since the astrological energies are so good!  Write your goals down on separate pieces of paper or a small index card and tape both goals where you will see them every day.  Mine are on my bathroom mirror.  Hey!  Its my bathroom!  The fellas have their own.  Your goals can be program-oriented (by the end of this year’s challenge I will have cleaned the garage), OR, they can be more spiritual/personal (by the end of this year’s challenge I will have started my next book because I’ve cleared out all the obstacles that I thought were in my way because I know the only thing in my way is myself).  Yeah.  You’re right.  Run-on sentence.  Whatever.  I could pare it down to:  I will not procrastinate.  And, if I REALLY wanted to be positive intent oriented following universal rules, I would say:  I move forward.

What is your Great Release Program Goal?
What is your Great Release Program Goal for this week?

Gold Stars — Every day you can earn gold stars.  When you reach 10 gold stars you do something nice for yourself.  When you reach 25 gold stars — you deserve a reward!  Be sure to take the time out of your busy schedule to do (or purchase) something super nice for you!  I provide a guideline each day on how much the tasks are worth.  You can change this guideline in any way you desire.  I use a calendar page just for the Great Release Program to mark how many stars I earn and keep track of my accomplishments and goals.

What You Must Do Every Day:  Throw or give something away.  You may not be able to do all the challenges provided by the program.  The only hard and fast rule?  No matter what — you must throw or give something away every day.

Charity Box or Bag:  Set a charity box or bag by your front or back door.  Take the contents to your chosen charity each week.  If you have children, have them decorate a cardboard box.  This will help to get them excited about giving to others.

New Year’s Day Traditions!

In keeping with our popular yearly cycle, New Year’s Day represents a wonderful time to instill good fortune into our coming year through celebration and actions.  Many people prepare and eat “lucky foods” to ensure positive abundance in the home.  These foods include pork and sauerkraut, black-eyed peas, leafy greens, cornbread, fish,  noodles and rice, and eating twelve grapes (one for good luck each month).  We’ll be serving several of these lucky foods today — how about you?

And this one is for Rita — I found it while surfing the net — “In some Latin American countries, including Mexico and Brazil, it’s believed the color of your undergarments will influence what kind of year you’ll have. Tradition holds that yellow underwear will bring prosperity and success, red will bring love and romance, white will lead to peace and harmony and green will ensure health and well-being, according to Michael Kleinmann, the underwear expert.” — USA Today, 2013 December.  I think I’m going to tie-dye mine.

finishedcontentsmoneycan
This money can formula includes metal change, ghost peppers, hot peppers, pumpkin seeds, marigold petals, allspice, dry rice, and ginger.

Another fun tradition is to paint or cover with fabric a cleaned metal can with green and gold (or red) that originally held food that you have eaten (as long as you did not throw any of the food away).  Place a handful of blessed coins in the can along with a charm for prosperity and good fortune and a spoonful of dried rice or beans, or you can use the formula listed under the photo.  Cover the can.  Shake in every corner of the house on New Year’s Day to bring good fortune into the home.  Save your “money rattle” and use it throughout the year when things start looking a little slim.  Place the rattle by the front door when not in use to encourage good fortune to enter the home.

finishedmoneycan
This finished money can includes a found feather and a tree of prosperity symbol.  I also used a polka dot ribbon, which is considered good luck, especially if worn on New Year’s Day.

Decorate A New Broom (or spruce up your old one).  Ribbons, bells, tulle, mini poppets and spirit animals, gemstones and feathers!  Dress up a very magickal broom that represents your personal power and your ability to sweep garbage out of your life!  In the future?  Who needs flying monkeys — just get your broom!

Don’t Forget The Nightly Buzz!

This is where you quickly go through the entire living area and pick up all the clutter, wipe up the spills, and ensure all trash goes where it belongs right before you go to bed.  Keep an eye on recurring messy areas (night after night) because that is where negativity is hanging.  You might want to give that area a really good cleaning and bless it with white sage, incense, or place an aromatic diffuser close by.

Today’s Main Challenge — Move one piece of furniture that has been in the same place for over a year (or since you have been in the current living space), OR rearrange a room.  Moving large items in the home helps to dispell stagnation and encourages new pathways and opportunities.  – Earn 5 gold stars.

Summary

  1. Do the Morning Ritual – earn one gold star.
  2. Practice the Rattle Bath – earn one gold star.
  3. Mark what you accomplished on your Great Release Calendar.

Did you add up the stars?  If you completed all the items that carry stars, you will already have earned over 25 stars!  Whoot!  Reward time!

With joy…

Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace Within.

Day One 2020 Great Release Program – 1 January 2020 – Wednesday

rattles
Rattles, bells, and tuning forks work wonders for breaking up negative energy around the body or in your environment.

The Rattle Bath

While practicing Yoga, I learned a Nidra that I incorporated into a rattle practice. Basically, you pass the rattle over various points of the body to clear away negativity and heighten healing, spiritual vibrations. The technique uses the standard seven chakras, as well as minor energy points. I have created a card for you to put on your altar if you like that may be helpful as you incorporate the rattle bath into your daily routine. If you find intoning the sounds bothersome or irritating – you don’t need to do it. Just stick with the rattle, and you will be fine. Let’s do a walk through with sound and rattle points.

Use this chart as a guideline. You can also recite the written charm before or after the rattle bath.

chakracleanse

Begin by shaking the rattle over your Crown Chakra and intoning the sound “Om” in your Throat. If you can, visualize purple light (if this is too much, no worries). Incorporate one deep inhale, rest for a one-count, and exhale at each chakra point. Next, shake the rattle at your Third Eye (in between your eyebrows), visualize indigo light, and repeat the sound “Om. “ Remember one deep inhale, rest, and exhale. Shake the rattle at your Throat, imagine blue/turquoise and intone with the “Ham” sound. Inhale, rest, exhale. Move the rattle to the Heart Chakra. Visualize green light and repeat the sound “Yam” while shaking the rattle. Don’t forget the deep inhale, rest, and exhale before moving to the next segment.

We are now going to “light” up several energy points. As you shake the rattle over each point, visualize white light literally popping and sparkling over the area. Right shoulder, right elbow, right wrist, right palm, right fingers (one, two, three, four, five – one at a time). Continue back to palm, right wrist, right elbow, right shoulder, and heart chakra. Repeat the sound “Yam.” Inhale, rest, and exhale deeply.

Let’s move to the left. Shake the rattle over each point, again visualizing the light popping over each point mentioned. Left shoulder, left elbow, left wrist, left palm, left fingers (one, two, three, four, five – one at a time). Continue back to palm, left wrist, left elbow, left shoulder, and heart chakra. Repeat the sound “Yam.” Inhale, rest, and exhale deeply

Move the rattle to the Solar Plexus Chakra, intoning the sound “Ram” and visualizing yellow light. Remember the deep inhale, rest, exhale breath. Next, shake the rattle over the Sacral chakra, intoning the sound, “Vam.” Visualize an orange glow. Inhale, rest, and exhale deeply. Move the rattle to the Root Chakra, chanting the sound “Lam” and visualizing a red light.

Again, we are going to “light” up several energy points. As you shake the rattle over each point, visualize while light popping and sparkling over the area. Move the rattle to the right hip, the right knee, the right ankle, the center of the right foot, the right toes (one, two, three, four, five – one at a time). Continue back to the middle of the foot, right ankle, right knee, right hip, and over the Root Chakra, intoning the sound“Lam,” inhaling, rest, and exhale deeply.

Move the rattle to the left hip, left knee, left ankle, left center foot, left toes (one, two, three, four, five – one at a time), back to the left-center foot, left ankle, left knee, left, hip, and pelvis (root chakra). Intone the sound “Lam”, inhaling, rest and exhale deeply.

Now it is time to “closeup” the cleansing work you have done. Work upwards with the rattle, centering on each chakra, remembering to breathe deeply at each energy point – Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Hit the rattle on the ground or table 3 times to finish. This is the sealing “sound.”

In all honesty, this practice takes a lot longer to read than it does to do! The rattle bath is perfect for any time or for any purpose, even when you are feeling just a bit sluggish. I’ve incorporated this practice into the release program as a daily segment that can follow your Morning Ritual (see the introduction post).

We’ve had remarkable results using the rattle bath here at the RavenWolf hearthstone.  Students and seminar attendees love the practice and have written to me later to tell me how wonderfully it has worked for them.  Do give it a whirl!
