The deepest part of the eclipse will occur off the southern tip of South America at 16:40 (4:40) pm EDT / 1:40 PM PDT. The New Moon occurs at 4:28 PM EDT/1:28 PM PDT.
Yes indeedy! Start rubbing those magickal hands together because we have a delightful Astro boost on Saturday! The new moon in Taurus on the 30th of April 2022 is a partial solar eclipse, so the vibes are strong! Mars and Uranus join the mix creating a pathway to initiating positive change and following your desires. Pluto watches all and internalizes available energies, adding them to the transformative you-brew that will emerge in October. Emotional balance heads the list of positive changes in sight! Good Fortune vibes available include initiation, motivation, harmony, flexibility, open-mindedness, breaking up old routines, clearing out the stagnant energy, finding personal freedom, gain, manifesting goals, and positive changes in love, money, and happiness! Powerful forces work behind the scenes, so take advantage of this excellent magickal timing! This New Moon in Taurus is all about making the intangible manifest – from there to here – step through the looking glass of dreams into the here-and-now reality!
With Mars and Uranus in your corner, you can use this energy to break out of a rut and go for the gold! Just remember that no eclipse affects everyone equally. Each person is a unique combination of energies, and only you know how to direct your life in the best way for you. Coupled with the New Moon in Taurus, the focus is on the earth element. Color correspondences include greens and browns. However, any “earth” color, from vibrant florals to sparkling minerals, can also come into play!
Taurus energy is considered long-term and enduring. The New Moon in Taurus is regarded as the most magnetic of the signs and perfect for financial work. Using magnets or lodestones in your practice is thought to up the ante! Drinking water magnetized with your intent and pouring blessed water over anything (except electronics, of course, lol) is believed to heighten the process of change. Place a picture of a person who needs healing under a transparent glass plate. Add healing stones, herbs, charms, etc., then pour blessed/magnetized water onto the plate. Leave for 24 hours (or a full day after the eclipse has finished). To increase the spell’s power, whisper (so that your breath touches the water) your healing charm or chant over the dish 3 or 9 times.
The planets on this day are “bundled” – within a 120-degree arc, which means that the energy is highly focused and intense. The leading planet is Pluto – the transformation energy – which is recently retrograde. That means work to adjust your behind-the-scenes self will benefit from your practice.
The Elemental balances on the 30th break down to four planets in water, four planets in earth, and two planets in air. There are two sign power points – Taurus (earth) and Pisces (Water). AND Mercury is at zero degrees – beginnings, beginnings, beginnings. What does this mean? If you like working with the elements, you may combine earth and water – for example, making something out of clay (which requires mud and water), etc., to enhance your work in the future. Or, petition magick will do well on this day. Use paper rubbed with your favorite magickal powder and blessed with a spritz of magnetized water.
The 30th of April is an excellent day to make lodestone oil. Easy to do! Just drop a bit of magnetic sand in mineral oil (that you can buy at your pharmacy) and let it “brew” beginning on the morning of the 30th. No magnetic sand? Use a magnet. Magnet doesn’t fit in the bottle? No worries – tape it to the bottom of the bottle OR put the oil and magnet in a dish, do the work to empower, drain oil into the bottle, dry off the magnet then tape it to the bottom of the bottle. Add dried herbs known for their attraction correspondences if you like. Magnetite Crystals (magnetite octahedrons) are sometimes included in the oil. Use lodestone oil to “feed” lodestones, anoint money and any financial documents, or add to love spells. Great for anointing candles, too! Already have lodestone oil? Revitalize it on the 30th! Luck and Attraction Herbs You May Find Useful in Your Solar Eclipse Magick — Here are just a few: Ginger, Jasmine, Bay, Lavender, Patchouli, Vetivert, Bamboo, Allspice, Orange, Poppy, Licorice, Mint, Violet, and Vanilla (to name a few). Here in the Northeast, violets are in abundance this time of year. Perfect day to pick a bunch and dry them for future magickal use. They work well for love, luck, attraction, and protection applications.
