Day 60 — The Magick of Animal Guardian Spirits!

day60With the humans ducking for cover, the animals have come out in force.  From sheep overtaking a bus station in Europe, “peacocks stroll the streets of Ronda, Spain; a gang of goats wander around a seaside town in north Wales; a puma climbs down from the Andes Mountains into Santiago, Chile; and coyotes trot around San Francisco” (read more from CNBC article) — the animals are taking back their planet!

On Day 60 (whoa!!) we celebrate the Shaman Within and our ability to communicate with our spiritual animal guides.  Today’s challenge is super simple; but, incredibly meaningful!

In the last seven days — list all the animals you’ve seen (outside of your pets).  If you have observed any really unusual sightings over the last two months — write that down, too.  Close your eyes and relax.  Contemplate each animal and their meaning to you.  If you have no clue of the symbolism, do a bit of an internet search to see if anything you read resonates.

For example — Today I saw 7 hawks.  The hawk urges you to use your intuition and inner vision.  They can be messengers from the spirits (which fits the work I’m going right now).  They urge you to expand your horizons.  The number 7 is a strong connection to the universe, and lucky in and of itself as it stands for prosperity, inner wisdom, intuition, and inward “knowing”.  I also had a bat sitting on my front door screen.  The bat speaks of transformation, good fortune, and major change.  Then, there was the raccoon at my squirrel lunch box feeder — intelligence and adaptability.

And then!!!!! (Andthenandthenandthenandthen)There was a Magpie!  For real!  (We don’t see them here, usually.)  My husband said, “That bird looks like a mini penguin!”  We were sitting on the front porch enjoying our after-dinner coffee, chatting, and gazing at the wish tree.  “That’s a magpie!” I whispered.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen one,” my husband whispered back.  “He is pretty!”

The magpie brings luck, joy, and lasting fortune.  He particularly urges creative expression as well as careful, active listening.

Have fun with today’s challenge!  Day 60 marks two full months of our magick together!  Whoot!  Post your experiences if you like.

Big Hugs!

Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace within!

  1. I’ve only seen the usual cranky starlings, bossy sparrows, and obnoxious carpenter bees. Lol!

      1. Lol! I forgot about that critter! Man that was weird! Alan was weirded out too when he saw it. Lol! Have you ever had one glow blue or purple after being out in the full moon light and then been rained on? I need to know if it’s a normal occurrence or if my quartz is actually an alien. Lol!

      2. Neither had I, that’s why I made Alan look at it to see if he saw it too. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Lol! You’ll have to give it a try during the next full moon. Hopefully we’ll get rain the day after.

  2. I am truly enjoying following this – Day 60, WOW! I had a murder of crows where I normally see 2 to 3. An abudundance of Cotton-tail rabbits where I normally see only 1. The hummers are darting every which way right now. I have only seen 1 Red tail hawk and three deer. Western North Carolina has become very active and the bird song is beautiful at 5:30 in the morning.
Byron Ballard has started a movement here – # prayers for the dead at sundown but I find that 5:30 am is a still and a sacred time for those who moved on during the night so now it is twice a day and the birds join in for the morning prayer.
Thank you for doing this during our quarantined pandemic….it has kept me focused and looking forward to you blog posts.

  3. I am sorry, that I haven’t been commenting for a while. But this challenge is very, very interesting. 👍 I have always loved so much bears 🐻 ❤️ From my childhood I’ve mostly dreamed of bears. I love also raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs, etc. But I have always seen something special about bears ❤️ Is it possible to ‘choose’ a spirit -animal by myself (?) I would love to have a bear as my spirit animal. And thank you for this article. Much love and blessings to you also!! Have a beautiful day 🌺 🌺 🌺

  4. There are many birds around us, so those are the creatures I see most often. These are the most unusual birds I seen lately and the black snake hangs out here like a wild pet!

A beautiful peacock – Seeing the peacock in your waking life, dreams, and visions, is sign and synchronicity that things are moving forward. And you are being looked after and protected by someone or something from the spirit world/realm. You can rest assured that all is well. And in the forthcoming times, things will flow with ease.
    The peacock represents grace.

A curious Black Snake was investigating a have-a-heart cage on my back porch – Seeing snakes often symbolizes upcoming periods of great personal transformation and growth. You might experience changes in your emotions, spirituality or some physical changes. Snakes are a powerful spiritual symbol.

A Quail – teaches about mysticism and enlightens you about your soul name and purpose. He is about nourishment of the soul, family, teaches how to elude problems, spot danger, and safety issues. Are you spending enough time with family? There are safety in numbers, perhaps you need to socialize? Quail also aids in awareness of dangers and gives you the quickness and camouflage you need in time of crisis. Are you blending in? Should you at this time? Quail will show you much about movement and taking opportunities when they are right. Allow quail to teach you this fine arts. It is time to be aware of what is going on around you.

Towhee – represents a time of utmost persistence and confidence. She teaches ways to uncover what is hidden. She shows the value of activity and progressing forward, even if it means taking steps backward. She shows how to maneuver in a way to keep going. Don’t give up. When Towhee appears there may something else you are missing and will show how to go over things with a new perspective. She uses resourcefulness and ingenuity to aid in revealing what is necessary. Is it time to voice your opinion? She shows the power in keeping feet on the ground and balancing energy and time that is spent on activities. Towhee’s medicine includes being quiet, secretive and subdued when needed as well as being forthright, loud and defensive when it is appropriate. She shows how to balance such passive/aggressive properties. The time period for Towhee’s lesson span about 2 weeks. Be aware of situations where you can implement her wisdom for she will present you with the best course of action.

  5. One has to be wearing rose colored glasses to see bats as lucky. They bring rabies, covid 19, and suspicious pairs of puncture wounds on the neck. If I had found a bat clinging to my screen door, the whole country would have heard my screams.

  6. I work at an animal shelter, we usually only see cats and dogs with an occasional rabbit. Recently however, I
keep seeing foxes at work- it’s very unusual. Today one of the animal control officers I work with caught a baby fox ❤
