Day 45 – Quarantine Magick – Grief Relief Formulas In Your Time of Need

While candles, aromatherapy, crystals, herbs, meditations, spells, rituals, and gemstones can support you through grief, they aren’t a substitute for speaking to your physician or qualified grief counselor.

When I designed a candle formula for grief relief a few years ago I researched possible ingredients that, through aroma and herbal pattern, might energetically vibrate to soothe emotional pain and sadness.  It never occurred to me that we would be faced with a pandemic, where enormous amounts of grief, sadness, anger, fear, guilt, and feelings of loss would hit our planet with wave after wave of emotional distress.  And I truly never thought in our time that options for grieving would be wretched away from those left behind — so now there is additional troublesome energy — the helplessness of not being able to act in a traditional way that would normally bring some comfort in the grieving process.  Nothing can miraculously fix this problem; but, we can step forward with our nimble (okay, so maybe not so dexterous) magickal fingers and create some solace for someone in need.

Whether for yourself, a family member, friend, or covenmate — here is my list of magickal correspondences that I have used with success for various Grief Relief projects in the past:

Aroma Choices: Ylang-Ylang, Grapefruit, Lavender, Chamomile, Neroli, Rose, Melissa, and Cedar — blend all or only a few as you desire.

Herbal Ideas:  Lavender, Grapefruit Peel (that I usually dry myself because it has a more intense aroma), Lavender, Frankincense, Chamomile, Bergamot, Kava-Kava, Hawthorn, Cedar, Rose Petals, and Lemon Grass (or Lemon Verbena if the season is right — there is nothing like home-grown lemon verbena!).  I also like to add Balsam if I have it as it is highly fragrant.

My gemstone preferences include any or all of the following:  Rose Quartz (heart healing stone), Smokey Quartz (grounding and emotional realignment as well as spiritual protection), Amethyst (protection, cleansing, and transformation), and Pink Calcite (the peace stone), Howlite (release emotional pain and anxiety).

griefreliefsachetConjure Bag/Sachet/Dream Pillow Fabric:  I like to make the project out of fabric that is uplifting, cute, or even funny — something the person who has experienced loss wants to touch.  I add big buttons, soft yarn, ribbons, etc.  Inside, I write my empowerment prayer (sigil) on tissue paper so that it crinkles when the fabric packet is massaged.

griefreliefsachet2Add An Explanation Card or slip of paper on the outside of your Grief Relief project.  “Hold me, hug me, squeeze me!  Sweet love I give to thee!” or whatever you feel is appropriate and be sure to add instructions of what your project is for.  It may be clear to you; but, those in distress often lack clarity and feel like they are living in a “muzzy” world.

You don’t have to work with fabric, you can make something out of colorful paper, create a Grief Relief jar, gift bag, jewelry that was soaked in an herbal and gemstone blend overnight, etc., — as long as your intent is to uplift the spirits of an individual and surround them with love — any projects you make will succeed.

Today’s Challenge:  Make One Grief Relief Project for someone in need (one for you, too!).  Earn 100 Stars!  Post what you created to give others ideas.

Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace Within

Big Hugs!
