That closet?  She is fighting me, yes, she is!  Today, I wrestled the top shelf, managed to remove a few things; but — sigh, there’s a plate my daughter gave me that goes to a pitcher set in another part of the house, and I don’t want to get rid of it because of that…and then there was another hummingbird feeder that I’ll pack up with the others in preparation for spring.  I managed to hang several pots on the wall, and take a bag of potting soil out to the shed where it belongs.  I found an old bird suet feeder, cleaned it up and took it out to …did I tell you I have a bird tree?  I do!  It is the Wishing Tree. and I have no clue what it is — small, decorative thing.  Anyway, a few winters ago, I started feeding the birds.  I buy most of the seed; but, in deep winter I make my own suet — healthier for them.  I’ve been fascinated with all the different feathered friends who visit — Cardinal, Chickadee, Junko, Titmouse, Woodpecker, Doves, Blue Jay, Goldfinch, and Nuthatch.  We also have crows, hawks, and buzzards; but, they don’t bother the feeders or the birds who visit the tree.  However, last year I had a terrible battle with three squirrels.  They emptied my bird feeders regularly and ruined a big, beautiful one my daughter bought me.  Although some family members said shoot them, I took another approach — I bought them their own lunchbox feeder and put them on Andy’s Poplar out by the drive.  They have behaved since then.

Oh?  The wishing tree?  Members of the Black Forest Clan and friends who visit at Granny Camp every year write their wishes on strips of old white bedsheets.  We hang the cloth streamers from the tree in ceremony.  By last year, we had so many people with requests that there wouldn’t be any room for the feeding birds, so we changed it up a bit and built tripod trellises with string and wooden poles, then tied the intentions to the trellis.  To secure our wishes, we planted small pumpkins at the base of the handcrafted lattice.  As the vines climbed the wood and string, they sealed the wishes.  Vining plants will hug your spellwork and carry the energy toward manifestation on this plane.  Okay, so that’s what I believe.  Um…cos I’ve seen it happen.  A lot.

50 Stars if you turn a tree in your yard into a Wish Tree.  All you need are some bird feeders to draw in the birds — our family believes they take our prayers to Spirit.  If you already have a tree — add another bird feeder.

  1. So far my favorite part of the program has been doing Silver’s Protocol each morning after I take a shower. It even helped stave off a virus that normally would last a week, but because of the Protocol I managed to kill it off in three days! This program has also helped encourage to revise my second book as part of my weekly intention.

  2. It seems as if I’m not only in cleaning out mode, but also using up mode – small steps, but still. Finding that mini stash of fabric a friend sent me and making things with that. Which is great! 🙂
Bird feeder… I had to order a new one and actually should be getting it today. I’ve got a balcony and I’m on the 4th floor so no chance of squirrels attackes. Unless they fly. In balloons or something. I needed a new feeder since the food gets wet when it rains etc. in the old one – so out with the old and in with the new today, I guess. Also I hope there will be less of a mess from the new one because that’s kind of become difficult…

      1. ah, ok – thank you. Good to know! 🙂 and sunflower seeds are very easy to get. 🙂

  3. My favorite part is the morning ritual! It is so wonderful to begin the day in a positive spiritual way 🙂 also, I love the anticipation and excitement of not knowing what the next’s day’s post and adventure will be!

  4. I’ve been practicing this program now since 2015 – I think – and I will say that my morning ritual consists of many elements that Silver has taught. I have learned so much! Every part of the program has been so precious and effective for me that I wanted to learn more, so I found a group of the Black Forest Clan near me and I hope to dedicate May 9th.

While I consider morning ritual to be extremely important my absolute favorite parts have always been the fun of the crafty spells we do – like the current Warrior Doll. I love working with the ideas and elements of these crafts and I always see them work and work well for their various intentions. This program entails a lot of work, but Silver, you make it so much fun! I will always look forward to the Great Release Program!

  5. My magickal Wish Tree has been there for a long time! I love to observe the birds that come to us in Winter. Because we are in Florida, we sometimes get migrating flocks of assorted varieties. One time I was looking at the tree and I saw several golden swirling lights about the size of small tea saucers fly to the tree, swirl and dance all around it, up and down and through the branches. I couldn’t believe my eyes and thought maybe it was an optical illusion from clouds or something moving overhead, so I stepped out onto the porch to look above the tree, but the sky was crystal clear and nothing else was there. They remained for at least 3 minutes or so and then rose up the tree in a golden swirling motion kind of like the way Disney sparkles spiral and fly away. It was an amazing experience, I felt honored and blessed. I thought perhaps they were faeries? I really don’t know, but I continue to bless and offer protection to this tree!

      1. Yes, I feel Blessed and absolutely amazed. I think many of us, when we learn of the spiritual beings outside our mundane realities sometimes wonder if they are real, or just a product of active imagination, but for some reason I have been given proof more than once – without asking for it – and this experience was one of those precious times. I am truly blessed!

  6. Your whole programmes are my favourite things in the magick year Silver RavenWolf 🙂 and I like the poppet making and candle work best! Your ideas are great and it works for me and I learn from You. Your book ” To Stir the magick cauldron” is my first teacher of how to make my cirkles and call the Directions and how to do cauldron magick…also the Dragon web…amazing! Thank You! I notice that Ravens are my Spirit Tribe ! ❤ Blessed Be !

  7. I’m glad that I helped my neighbor get motivated to work on her house. She’s retired and has hoarding tendencies. She has given me lots of clothes (to which I clean and donate with my stuff). She’s been as giggly as a school girl! She started with a closet and now has 1 room complete and is starting on her second! So proud of her!

    1. Wow, Dianne! I think it is really great you’ve shared the release program with your neighbor and they’re enjoying it. Way to be a witch in the world!

  8. The morning ritual is my favorite part, of every challenge I make sure to maintain some aspects, over the years.
Unfortunately I live in an apartment building, I don’t have a tree, but in the garden there are two houses for the ucce3, made again, years ago, by my dad. These are very important memories, especially now that he’s gone.
Oggi ho lavato lavatrice, aspirapolvere, scope e stracci, mamma mia, quanta sporcizia, nonostante cerchi di tenerle in ordine, una bella pulita ci voleva proprio. I think it will be one of those habits that I will keep over the years, instead of just doing it at the change of seasons, I promise to do it at the beginning of every month

  9. My favorite part of this program has been the heaviness that has slowly been lifting with each day. My house feels lighter! I’m also procrastinating less.

As for the wishing tree, I dont have any trees in my yard. I do have a fancy shepherd’s hook that my humming bird feeder and swing are on. I’m in California and we have humming birds all year long. Maybe I could plant morning glories at its base when we warm up. What do you think? Oh I have a bird feeder on my fence. I only get finches and morning doves.

  10. My favorite part of the program is the synchronicity I am feeling between my intentions and results in my life! Things set themselves up before I even think to need them, it’s very interesting to me. A more focused answer would be Silver’s Protocol. It’s uncomplicated, easily applied throughout my day, and reminds me of the limitless possibilities that surround us. I feel it is both a devotion to the universe and a personal spell. It reminds me that true magick comes from one-ness and when I intentionally visualize the connection between myself and the energies of the universe I am taping into harmony. True magick is just that, harmony!

I love the wishing tree idea! I have a large yucca tree in my backyard. I think I’ll pick up a bird feeder and see what happens. On a side note, I have a similar association with sunflowers. I LOVE planting sunflowers, watching them grow, and absorbing the positive energy they radiate. I’ll bet they grant wishes, too =). They always draw lots of birds, at least for me. This summer I’ll tie some specific wish on the stalks as it grows.

  11. I live in an apartment so I can’t have a permanent wishing tree … at least not one that is outside! I do hang wish streamers on the tree directly outside my back porch on the spring equinox. I leave them up for about three days and then take them inside and burn them. I feed the little ravens (and accidentally the squirrels) every morning. I toss them some wild bird seed and some roasted, unsalted peanuts. They really love the peanuts! They all come running/flocking to my apartment when they see me take the dogs for their morning walk. It’s cute. My favorite part of the program is the structure it provides to get things done. I am a goal oriented person, so having goals to complete helps me stay on track to work on things. The morning ritual is really good, too. Thanks for doing this! It can’t be easy to come up with stuff for us to do. It is much appreciated 🙂
