Today:  The Angelic Spirit Within You

This week I felt moved to write a little piece on FB for those who are struggling — emotionally, spiritually, physically — in hopes that they would read the message and feel better.  I was shocked at the number of comments, and it made me realize how much people need small “gifts of spirit”.  We live in busy times and the season adds extra pressures.  One person remarked that he always feels suicidal at this time of year.  I understand that.  Years ago I grabbed this time of year by the throat and shook it.  Hard!  Glaring at it squarely, I said, “You are just a bunch of days like any other days in the year.  I am not going to fall victim to your commercials, your pressure to perform, your desire to push me under and wallow in the past either with bad memories or with feelings that I can’t get good times back, your negative, insidious thoughts that slink through my mind like worms in the decay of society!  No!  This year I’m going to do something different!  This year I am going to release all your monstrous negativity and I’m going to move forward.  And dammit!  I’m going to succeed!”

And so…

The Great Release Program was born.

Every year since then I’ve tried to do something different with the program.  Keep it fresh.  Keep it in tune with the times.  Push it to encompass more people and greater ideas.  If there is something you’d like to add to the program this year, please feel free to cast your ideas upon the waters of this blog.  I’m sure many of us would love to hear your spiritual or practical ideas about how you handle release or how you have learned to make this time of year less stressful.

Today is Friday the 13th!  To me, it is a lucky day!  I have a magickal task for you today:  Find 13 pebbles, wash them, bless them and rub them softly in your hands while you connect with Spirit (or your angels, or your totem, or a particular religious persona).  Breath deeply as you rub the stones — from the tip of your toes to the top of your head — then funnel the energy out through your heart chakra and into your hands.  For the first minute or so, just raise energy, connect with Spirit, and breath deeply.  Allow yourself to just flow with the rubbing of the stones, your breath, and the love of the universe.  Move from this connection into the focus of joy — not what joy — just joy for the sake of the feeling.  Think of something that makes you incredibly happy — your love for a puppy — what you cherish each day that is bright and beautiful — don’t worry so much about what — capture the feeling!

Next, softly blow on the stones — thinking of this feeling of joy.  When you are finished, seal the stones by drawing an equal-armed-cross in the air over the stones.  You might also say:  “As above — So Below, this working is sealed.  May all astrological correspondences be correct for this working.  Only the Good Remains.  So be it.”

Today, you are going to be a Secret Angel with your stones.  Give twelve of the stones away to people you know who will appreciate them OR place those stones where you feel they are most needed — in a parking lot, at the corner of the building or place where you work, by a grocery store — wherever you think joy is needed.  As you place each stone, you can say:  “Guardian Angels and Angelic Hosts, I give the world joy.”  Place the stone.  Then say:  “Peace with the Gods, Peace with Nature, Peace Within.  Only the good remains.”  Or, you can say whatever you desire — a whispered prayer or chant — the gift of words is entirely up to you.  You can also use stones you have in your collection.  I recently bought a bag of lodestones, so I want to bless those, asking the stones to draw joy and blessings to them before I give them away.

Tell us how you felt after you have given away or placed all your stones in interesting places.  How did the rest of your day go?

So many times we do not realize the power we have to change the world simply by giving a blessing or writing a piece from the heart that pours out love to strangers.  Yes, you do have the power to do just that.

Try it.

Today — you are the angel.

Your Physical Challenge for Today:  Do one thing on your list, or use today as a catch-up day.

Summary:  Many times we release anxiety and unhappiness by translating that energy into something amazing — like giving a gift of prayer.  Today’s exercise is all about trusting your power, and learning that your gift of thought coupled with love is extremely valuable.  Sometimes, we feel embarrassed that we believe we can do such a thing.  Without reinforcement from community, such thoughts are often trod under the ignorance of society.  By placing the stones in a magickal way, you are exercising your choice to have faith that your thoughts and actions can impact the world around you.

(1)  Do your Braucherei Morning Ritual.  This time, cross your palms over your chest at the fourth time you intone the chant — you will most likely feel a lovely rush of energy.  This is your acceptance of Spirit and healing.
(2)  Complete your Angel Mission — blessing stones and giving them away.
(3)  Catch-up or do something on the list you made at the beginning of the program.
(4)  Give away or throw out at least one thing today.
(5)  Do one Mad Minute Exercise

Tomorrow:  Be Nice To You Day!  Saturday is your special day.  Plan something fun, unique, and relaxing for yourself!

Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace Within!
Only the Good Remains!

  1. I love This !!! Cant wait to do it !! Today is a Blessed day! I agree with you about it being a lucky day. My first stone is going to my son for it is his 18 birthday (12-13) I will be going to PA to pick him up He just finished his first semester of college what a joyous day! The remaining stones will be given to people I see through out my day and I will also leave some in places I really think it is needed . Then its off to finish a few things off my list of catching up..lol Have a great Friday the 13th!!

  2. Its gonna b a great fri 13 & cant wait to do the angel mission!! The first one im going to give away is @ my work place. Always bad vibes & stress there. Maybe i can change that. Brightest blessings to all!! :))

  3. In India we have a festival Diwali which can be very hectic, this time we were in mourning, so we did not go through too many preparations, it was the most relaxed Diwali I have ever had…I feel one should do what one can and close their eyes and ears to the rest, hope it does not sound too drastic..

  4. Silver, Thank you so much!!!! I have to say, “I CAN NOT tell you how empowered this series has been for me!” I do not always achieve the goal each day, but I do try to make it up the next day. successfully so far!
I was injured & had to have surgery & I let my standards go, so in addition, as an admitted pack-rat, this is so helpful to really see what is worth hanging onto, mentally & physically! Blessings to you & yours at this time of joyfulness! Sweet Mt. Sue

    1. You go! Hang in there, get rid of what you can, just a bit a day and you are doing super well. I know how a physical disability and curtail things and then you just sort of ignore them, lol. You are doing beautifully!

  5. The weather is added a lot of stress this year for me. We are getting a lot of snow in December. And it is so cold! It feels more like January then December. Parties are being cancel. Driving to stores in between snowstorms to buy gifts is a challenge. And now I have a cold! Being a secret angel will have to wait because the ground is covered with snow. I don’t feel like search for pebbles under the snow. I have been doing the daily physical challenges and throwing something away every day except for today. It is just too cold to walk to the dumpster tonight. Looking forward to Saturday’s challenge, since another storm is going to keep me in the home. It will be a great day to relax.

  6. I have been doing the Braucherei Morning Ritual faithfully along with the LBR, I feel peaceful and self confident which was not there earlier. After that I do my other rituals(I know, its a lot!) and I find the connection with the Divine a lot easier and better! Thanks Silver!

  7. I do the Braucherei ritual every day, sometimes I just repeat the words while I am working or doing something else. Also the calender is great, I write in what I did, and give me a star. But somehow These days, I feel I wish a new Love for the next year. Maybe you have something Special for These days to do something for Love.
Thank you! Bless all of you and may Gods be with you! Regards, Kristina

    1. Actually, these days are all about love as new love (that’s worth it) won’t come to you if you are not stable and happy inside. By doing the release program, you are preparing for all sorts of new experiences including love. There are a few tips that we used last year that really help finding a new love along: Clean your bedroom and remove all clutter. Remove all items that scream “a woman or man alone” — make enough closet and drawer space for another person, make sure all decoration and art work in the room lends itself to “couple” energy.

  8. Did the morning ritual as usual (which is a real joy by the way!). It’s far below zero here in Michigan, but I managed to go out this morning and harvest 13 stones, washed and infused them with peace, love, and joy in the midst of the morning rite. One I will leave next to my sleeping wife, one will go in a nondescript corner of my classroom, and the other 11 I’ll sprinkle around the parking lot at work for the benefit of my stressed teacher colleagues. This is a really fun bit of work. Thanks for the great program.

  9. I love friday the 13ths! I have read some where long ago that it was a day to celebrate Venus the Goddess of Love. This is a wonderful exercise with the stones as a person can use this energy also and spread love around which we could really use more of. 😉
Yesterday I was putting my groceries in my truck and I started a conversation with the older couple parked next to me who were doing the same as I. I do this on a regular basis, strike up conversations with random people even if it is a smile and a hello. The gentleman handed me two cards before we left, they were business cards but only had a statement about Joy. Nothing else and he gave me another one to pass to someone else. This is the type of actions and thoughts I try to spread when I am out and the stones reminded me of it.
I also wanted to say that I have shared this with my sister. She said the morning ritual words once and felt the peace right away.
Your work and service to all of us spreads! 😉

    1. I’m going to take this Gentleman’s idea! Going to make up many cards from construction paper and simply write “Joy” on them, or perhaps some more words to go with Joy. I’ve found such happiness doing this I want to share it!

  10. Happy Friday the 13th! I am lucky enough to have been born on a Friday the 13th AND my father was born on a Friday the 13th! It’s always been lucky for me. I love this post, and I must admit that I haven’t been able to do much yet on the Great Release as I have been working a lot of hours, and we also rescue cats and have a feral cat colony we care for. I am saving the posts to go back and start at the beginning on my day off Sunday. But I have to say, I am going to do this one at some point, the whole idea of sharing your joy during this season is a wonderful one. All too often I run into the opposite (I work in a retail Pharmacy) as it seems more people are stressed and in bad moods. I will definitely be placing a stone at my work and the waiting room! Thank you and Blessed be!

  11. The angel mission was a complete success!! I dont know if it was the different mind set i was in after blessing the stones but the work place was a lot less stressful with a few of the stones spread around. Had a great fri the 13th all the way around. Brightest Blessings 🙂

  12. Today has brought me such a light heart! I cleansed and blessed the stones. 5 of which got put into makeshift bags made from leftover ribbon I had and are going out with Yule gifts in the mail Monday. 3 were placed on My Guys desks, 1 left at an ATM, 1 in the parking spot I used at a department store, 1 outside the grocery store, and the final one placed inside my neighbor’s mailbox. I truly hope each brings someone joy!

As for the physical challenge I almost got my Van cleaned out, but it got too dark to vacuum so I will do that Sunday. Oh and the immense energy I felt when I place my palms on my chest was so delightful! Blessed Be!

  13. I loved this practice! I used pennies instead of stones (because we live in the city. My husband said while I was washing them, “Pennies are the stones of the city.” Lol, so true here!) He got the first one, I placed another on top of the mailbox of an elderly gentleman who seems like he can use some joy, “dropped” some in the complex and parking lot, gave one away to a co-worker, then the rest I spread about the city on my way home. It felt great knowing these pennies would make it to people who needed their blessings! Each day while going to work, I’d check where I left them and there’d be one or two less. Brilliant idea, Silver! 🙂

  14. Yes, I know…a week late (I’m behind on some day’s magickal work). Another long one…

I’ve had this nasty negativity and bah humbug monster attached to me for the last few days. All over an issue with work. I could elaborate, but I’ll be nice.

Anyway, it lead me to today. Getting ready to take a shower and this idea hits. Instead of wallowing, work! Immediately I thought of this working I neglected and decided to spread some joy.

I had to go to the mall (I despise mall shopping any time of year, but more so this weekend). Remembering your post, Silver, about wish cards, and the other brilliant ideas that were shared (thank you all), I was going to do this work today.

In about 15 minutes I whipped out some cards so I could randomly leave kind thoughts along my dreaded journey. Using plain white card stock, green and red stamping ink, and a few stamps, I made 12 business sized cards. They aren’t fancy (rather plain), but I wanted to get them done before I changed my mind about going out. I don’t have a laminator so I covered each one with clear shipping tape so the ink wouldn’t run.

    The “greeting” stamp I usedvsays:
“May the joy and love you feel this holiday season extend to every day throughout the year”. It’s a Christmas sentiment, but my intention was for Yule. I think the meaning is “generic” enough that it would work for whatever holiday the “recipient” celebrates. The other stamp was a tiny oval of holly. Greeting was stamped in red. Holly stamped in green, with a green ribbon tied to the card. On the back I hand wrote, “pass it on”.

I was running out of time so I “enchanted” them with an impromptu chant and passed them through some sandalwood match insense. I used the air element for communication, and it’s Friday, a Venus day so….hopefully the “word” gets out.

The little cards were left on store displays, in the parking lot, at the entrance and on the running boards of an SUV that parked extremely close to my car (and I park in the sticks when I use public parking so no one will do that).

The last one was haphazardly placed at the drink station in a fast food place. When I passed the station on my way out I could tell at least one person read it because it had been repositioned from its original spot.

I didn’t get the work done on the proper day, but today felt like a good day.

Yule blessings to all, and to all a good night 🙂

      1. Honestly, I didn’t know how to reply when I read your comment. I was speechless. I was thinking when I made them and as I left them, “please know you are not alone”. And when I read your comment, I wept.

Thank you Lady Silver for supporting us, encouraging us and adding a deeper perspective to our thoughts and actions.
