Your Challenge for Today:  Today is Pamper Your Pet Day!  Of course, you pamper your pet every day; but today, be sure to make an extra effort in caring for your pet.  Clean the food dishes, wash your pet’s favorite blanket or toy, comb out fur, perhaps a best loved treat or activity that the entire family can enjoy with your feathered, furry, or amphibious friend.

According to recent statistics, between mid-2010 and 2011, an estimated 1.63 million households in the USA welcomed an animal companion, bringing the total number of pet-owning families to a record high of 63%.  “Several recent studies have found that caring for an animal – whether a golden retriever or goldfish – can quell anxiety, brighten mood, and promote a healthier heart” (Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, January 2013 issue, page 90).

Sort of makes you wonder about those folks on E-bay who advertise a pet-free environment as a good thing.

So today?  Honor your pet.  If you don’t have a pet?  Help a friend or family member who has one, take pet-food to a local food bank (when times are hard pets are often the first to suffer) or donate a buck to an animal friendly charity.

And, don’t forget to release at least one thing today.

Summary:

(1)   Do your Morning Braucherei Ritual and light your goal candle.

(2)   Do Today’s Pet Challenge.

(3)   Practice your Sea of Potential Exercise

(4)   Get ready for tomorrow!

Tomorrow:  Your Words

Give yourself One Gold Star if you remembered to do your morning ritual.  Two gold stars if you completed today’s challenge.  Three gold stars if you donated to a pet friendly charity.  Four gold stars if you deep cleaned anything.  Five gold stars if you helped someone else straighten out their world after the holidays.  Six gold stars if you managed to smile.

Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace Within.

  1. I don’t have pets and I don’t plan on giving any money to any organization as we have hungry people who need food. I will however give a bag of food to my son for his dog when I get out of work and maybe I will even throw in a dog toy. That is just about all I can muster up as I am not a real dog lover (bad experience as a kid). For all you dog lovers out there – bless you. I am more of a cat person. I will say it angers me when I see how cruel people can be to animals – that is just wrong on so many levels.

    1. Maybe you can light a candle for all the homeless animals, the abused and neglected. Send them love and light, let them know someone cares for them. 🙂

  2. All the doggie bedding are washed, both the dogs were washed and dipped for fleas on Wednesday. I find that in this heat they tend to scratch more, so for good measure I powdered them both this morning.
Daisy like to “tan” her belly, the vet said to put Sp 50+ suntan lotion on her tummy, so she get that done every morning in the Summertime (loves the attention). Injection time are around June/ July, worming are done at the same time, then again in December.
Daisy sleeps on the back porch on her own couch in Summer. Aradia sleeps next to me in her own doggie bed, I cant sleep if I don’t hear her snoring, she tend to get gas, it smells terrible, it feels as if your eyeballs are peeling, and the lining in your nose just integrate……
Wintertime they both sleep indoors, favorite place, right in front of the heater. When it’s extremely hot, they stay inside in front of the air con. I cant move without one or both of them being at my side, and they love my circle.
They both love the sea, Aradia swims like a rock, so we have to keep a close eye on her, there’s no way to keep her out of the water, imagine that, a dog that cant swim but loves water. We keep a basin filled with clean, cold water for her on the grass in summer time so she can go cool off anytime she feels like it. Daisy will run after any child with her tennis ball always eager to play, and she loves cologne of dead anything to roll in…..
In the evening when daddy comes home from work, they both get a dog biscuit, that’ their special time with him, Aradia have to wait her turn, for the “old” lady Daisy, to get her treat first, so she usually sits and drivel in anticipation.

Have a joy filled day with your special friend.
